Taking pursuit

Is every fool in love? Or is anyone in love, a fool?  The wisest act like fools, and fools act like they’re wise.

“Happiness is what you make of it ”

I’ve been seeing this a lot lately, and because I’m a cynical bastard, yes, Cynical, and a bastard, I’ll disagree, just to go against the waves and try to come out as having a ‘unique point of view‘.  Ah, toss that. Here’s what I think.

Saying that ‘happiness is what you make of it is a sorry excuse and just another way of saying

“Oh it’s okay. I would like a million dollars, but i guess a thousand is fine…..”

Yes, with the extra dots to give it a depressing feel. If happiness is something you can ‘make of’ , it’s like trying to define, esteem, consider, account or estimate the value of ‘Happiness’. There’s a mechanism inside everyone of us that prevents us from ever getting satisfied, yet through the ages many have succeeded (or have they..? hehe) in deceiving themselves. Telling themselves they’re satisfied. They set goals, reach them, and stop. Like earning a million dollars or getting that job at Mcdonalds, then they think, “Well. That’s it. It’s done.” , and sometimes consciously, sometimes subconsciously, they take a backseat to their own lives. They let external factors determine their ‘fate’ or so to speak. Passenger seat.

Wrapped yourself in a comfortable blanket of self-deception, says I, the almighty (and really, really ironic) procrastinator.

Remember when you were five years old and you did things without a reason?  Maybe you ate some plastic parts of a toy or you threw some birthday cake at the window, we did some silly things when we were younger, and there was no reason or justification whatsoever. We lived by the NIKE slogan, at least, for a while.

Then what happened?

We ‘grew up’.

Almost everything we do now, we need a reason. We go to school because we need education, supposedly. Let’s just flow with the basic assumptions of civilization for the examples. We become what our parents want us to be so as to exhibit filial piety. We give to charity because it’s the right thing to do. (..or is it.)

Doubt is infused with every decision we make. Knowledge is power they say, yet with knowledge, it adds a certain numbness to our intuition, our ‘gut feeling’, and we’re left with facts and research to base our decisions on. As the world gets faster, people slow down.

And now we’re tying to give emotions and feelings a definition, a value, a limit, an account, an estimation. So then Adriel, What is happiness?

Philosophers and religious thinkers have often defined happiness in terms of living a good, or flourishing, rather than simply as an emotion. – wikipedia

Well, since you asked so nicely, I shall tell. (hehehe)  Love Happiness is..ah this is hard. Let me try to be simple, yet as precise as possible so as not to leave out any important details. Happiness is..   =))))))))))))))

Oh man that was hard. and, I’M BACK HAHAHAHA. Fine, I never went anywhere, I just think it’s cool to keep saying that, seems like almost every other blogger is saying that, like they inadvertently go on a hiatus or pretend to go on one just to say that. I’m bothering myself with things that I shouldn’t be concerned with again. darn.
