If the ink ran dry.

Eleven minutes.

Life. Cigarettes.

They’re not too different, really. Whether it’s long or short, smooth or coarse, you get through it. You start out with a favorite blend and brand, and sooner or later, you move to another. Sometimes it’s too expensive, sometimes you just want a change, try something new, the all awesome feel of fresh novelty.

Given enough time, you get through any brand, any blend, easy. Desensitized. You just need to get through it.

In a sense, we’re forced into life. Yes, they’d say it’s a blessing, and some will say it’s a curse, but without judging, analyzing the attitudes or considering the perspectives, theoretically, or even scientifically, we were given no choice.

Maybe, that’s the most important lesson in life, the first that we learned. It doesn’t matter if you’re optimistic or pessimistic about your existence, you’re going in that front door and out that back door all the same.

As for how the hallway is like, long, short, warm, cold, with colorful wallpaper or tarnished with distasteful graffiti, maybe we get to play a part, you know, participate. It’s our life after all, isn’t it?  or is it?

Some wise guy said

If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but due to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment.

Basically, my interpretation of it would mean something for example, your best friend for 8 years dies, you’re not hurt by her death, but by your estimate of it, and at any point, this hurt can stop.

It could be two things.

1, that you’re not human.

2, that you’re seriously delusional.

3, your EQ is X.   and   X being Einstein’s and Issac newton’s IQ x2 to the power of 16.

Success gurus will always tell you, always, that you’re affected because you want to be, that if you take responsibility for everything that happens to you, you can potentially control everything, all the outcomes.

Not to say that all of this isn’t true, you just can’t apply it to every context.

It is simply impossible to ‘revoke‘ our ‘estimate‘ of incidents and tragic happenings without becoming a robot. We’re all clockwork, let’s not be mistaken, but we’re not robots.

We’re affected because we want to be, we allow ourselves to be, and that we have the power, at any moment, to not feel the way we feel, the way we don’t like feeling. Would you like that, really?  Sometimes in life, it feels great to feel, naturally. Like how you’re happy sometimes and you don’t know why.

Of course, you could take responsibility for that, you could tell yourself you’re happy because you want to be, but the pie is no longer fresh once you stick your finger into it. If it happens without you doing anything, now that’s a real blessing, and unless you have an ego problem, you’d enjoy it more than you would if you did something to influence the outcome.

My opinions are baseless, formless, and my own. If you feel this post is controversial or offensive at any point, it is not due to the content, but your interpretation of it, and this, you have the power to revoke at any moment.

Satirical.
