Gunshot wounds. Swirling, twirling, spiraling. Conspiring. So much blood, yet, so little humanity. A sea of hatred, an ocean of doubt. I remember what I once saw, through those pearly blue eyes. They’re gray now. So serene. Tranquil, peaceful On the inside. On the outside, so much blood, yet, so little humanity. Perplexes me.

Sixty seconds was it all it took, A poet & a thief, married by the book. She stole his heart, he captured her soul; A love story, for two, maybe three years. By then, it’s all about the dust, the tears & the fears. About how he’s not as romantic as he used to be, [...]

I see a blinding light in the distance. I stare blankly as my shift comes to an end. A bed, a cigarette, coffee and the comfort of the girlfriend. The roads populate with people and the streets fill with men and women ready to face the world. My mind is overwhelmed with thoughts of that [...]

Under the watchful eye of the midnight sky, the dreamer, he walks alone. With nothing but a ‘goodbye‘. He is, once again, on his own. Walks by the very path where the light once shone. He says with a whimper, he wants to know, because the winds are harsh and very cold, if she still [...]

Sticks and stones, crimson and bones. My eyes, clearly dry, have seen the glory. Fortunate, I, have lived through to tell my story. Of the brave, and the weak alike, who fell. Men with wives, children and friends, who spent their last minutes on enemy land. My last words, falling on deaf ears & buried [...]

She walks, face to the rain and eyes to the clouds. Walks into the cafe of broken dreams for a cup of tea. No patron ever has tea, not here. Only coffee. Black, no sugar. No creamer, nothing. Maybe a tear or two. Only coffee, but not this girl. Her eyes he caught. head fills [...]

They bear the hatred, he bears the shame. Among the living he walks, masked and hiding behind no name, amongst the congregation, of traitors, almost whispering, he starts to talk. Mounts a horse with news to give, invited by all, yet asked to leave. The man with no name, the man with all the shame. [...]

A life in the day of a boy, forgotten and stray. Too many things left to say but none actually told. The child, Cast out and exiled into the wild. Soon forgotten. And you could tell by the look on his face that he wasn’t in the least bit interested in the money, or the [...]

Some forget to remember, some remember to forget. No roses for the dead, not tonight; The night, silent & calm, drowning in serenity and tranquil. Hear us tonight, our voices, we scream like the morning light. Oh we fight, we fight, and we fight. With all our might. Only one request, really. One desire. Keep [...]

She loves me, she loves me not. I did it again. No,wait, it’s not my fault; Is it time to go, or is this all for show. Dreams of me dying, memories of me trying. Yes, the love is more than enough, it’s just, sometimes it gets really tough. And I hate being on my [...]

You have but one desire, but the world calls you a liar; We live, we die. The lucky ones do much more. Not you, though. You’re different. Different but the same. Another pawn in this little game. You cross the line without promises, and you’re honestly lying. I saw that eyebrow twitch, there’s electricity in [...]

I hold dear, and close to my heart, these memories of which I am now, a part. Why do we fall in love? Is it a human need, or an inevitable desire. Beyond the question of inevitable or not, irresistible, as it always will be. And maybe, just maybe. If we’d just give it a [...]

Hello death, my oldest friend, can I come in? It’s been a while; Yes please, coffee would be nice, oh we’ve got a lot to talk about. this and that, and of course, life, your wife, it’s been up & down as usual, sugar & spice. I admit, some days I avoid you like the [...]

I watched her hips as she pulled me by the chin, surrender hopelessly I do, I submit to you. I counted the cigarette burns on her back, six, or was it seven, vivid but forgettable. I had a dream once and there was you and I, but dreams be dreams and lust, that’s another. I [...]
